Mark Boaz, Ph.D., PMP, is Senior Vice President, Global Program Lead. Prior to ILiAD, Dr. Boaz was in Pipeline Project Leadership at Legend Biotech, leading oncology and autoimmune in-vivo cell therapy programs.
Dr. Boaz spent eight years at Pfizer Vaccines in roles of increasing responsibility, most recently as Vice President and Group Lead, Development Management. He played a direct leadership role in the development of the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 mRNA vaccine program, personally directing the global cross-functional program team and alliance partnership from development through Emergency Use Authorization submission and global launch. He also led global program teams through strategic execution for RSV, influenza, meningococcal, and Group B Streptococcus vaccines. Across his career, Dr. Boaz has had direct leadership involvement in five vaccine programs that achieved global regulatory approval and licensure, alongside broader organizational leadership supporting additional programs and approvals during his tenure.
Prior to Pfizer, Dr. Boaz held leadership positions at the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI) and Sanofi, where he led immunology strategy and execution for vaccine programs.
Dr. Boaz has authored or co-authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications. He received his Ph.D. in Immunology from King’s College London and his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology (Immunology) from the University of Manchester, England. He is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP).
