Svetlana Rayner, PhD serves as Head of Biostatistics and Data Management, bringing decades of distinguished experience across academic research, public health, and the pharmaceutical industry.
Dr. Rayner began her career as a statistician with the National Competence Centrum, where she supported Swedish National Quality Registers before transitioning into the pharmaceutical sector. She joined Novartis Vaccines as lead statistician for the trivalent influenza vaccine program, contributing to multiple additional influenza vaccine studies. She then advanced to Takeda's Vaccines Business Unit as a clinical development statistician, where she led the pivotal trial for a dengue fever vaccine through licensure.
Her expertise extends beyond clinical development into market access and medical affairs. At Shire, she served as lead statistician for a post-licensure data registry, and at MSD she held the role of Associate Principal Scientist within the HTA Statistics group. Most recently, Dr. Rayner was Head of Statistical Science and Data Management at HilleVax, a biotechnology company developing a norovirus vaccine candidate.
Dr. Rayner holds an M.S. in Biostatistics from Hasselt University in Belgium and a PhD in Mathematical Statistics from Lund University in Sweden.
